Made In Europe
At Ochre & Ocre we are particularly proud of the fact that all of our products are Made in Europe. There are a number of reasons why we feel that this is important, & we have spent a lot of time sourcing & developing the range to ensure we have a strong supply base.
One of the biggest benefits of sourcing within Europe is the reduction in our Carbon Footprint. Less energy is spent on transporting the raw materials & finished goods, & with the rising fuel prices, this has an economic benefit as well. The lower transport costs have enabled us to offer a “green” product that is competitively priced compared to non green lines.
European legislation is a lot stricter than China or India. We know that the goods are produced in excellent working conditions, and that the workers get a fair wage.
The Ochre and Ocre team regularly visit the factories, to ensure good working practices are maintained.
Manufacturing in Europe benefits our economy, with the monies for the raw materials, & manufacturing remaining within Europe.
It ensures that vital skills remain within the European workforce, & enable us to provide a highly finished product.
