Ochre News

Exciting new ranges coming soon! 2nd February 2010

We have been busy over the last few weeks putting the finishing touches to our new print collection; working closely with the factory in Portugal to make sure all those little Ochre And Ocre touches are just right.

The two new designs have been created by British textile designer Lindsey Joyce. Drawing on her love of travel and photography, as well as the works of 1950s designers, Lucienne Day and Mary White. Isabella is a graphic leaf pattern, in Campden Blue. Madelaine is a more traditional polka dot in Sage green. Lindsey named the designs after her two daughters, and they do seem to reflect both their personalities!!

The new range is a lot more casual, more everyday, perfect for relaxed suppers at the kitchen table. We have added a wipeable table cloth, which is coated in Polyurethane. A more eco friendly alternative to oilcloth. It also has a softer handle and drapes more easily.

Other new additions will include a small utility range, kids aprons and cute tea cosy's. Later on in the year we will be selling the Organic Cotton prints by the metre.

As well as the product itself, there are new labels to consider, swing tags and the all important images. We were really lucky that the lovely team at Fired Earth in Adderbury allowed us to photograph our new range in their amazing showroom. The Fired Earth colours were the perfect compliment to our new soft shades.

Our new photographer Rachel Spivey was great to work with, as she really understood the look and feel we were trying to achieve from the range.

We are launching the range wholesale next week, at The Spring Fair, NEC Birmingham. It will be going live online at the end of February, and you will also be able to see it at the Country Living Fair in Islington in March.

You can have a sneak preview at the prints by going to our Lavender Bag section, as the handmade Lavender hearts are now available to order!
